Zero Dieting

November 2007
Body Fat %: 25-26%
Weight: 94kg
Waist: 35-36"

Now
Body Fat %: 17-18%
Weight: 84kg
Waist: 33"

Met a lot of people and a LOT (almost all really) asked me if I dieted. I just wanna clarify that I HATE the word dieting and the act of dieting. Seen many people dieted down to scrawny then ballooned back up. The truth is I've been training faithfully. Gym is like my second home and thanks to a couple of my training partners, we've kept each other goin to train 4 days a week and not forgetting too, another thing I hate but is necessary, cardio.

For food, like I said, I hate dieting and I'll never succumb to dieting for obvious reasons. I just control the portion of every meal intake. I love McD's and I'll never give them up but cutting out the soda and fries helps a lot. I do cut out sugary drinks too and some of you may know that the coffeeshops around here are really generous in the sugar content in their drinks. I can live without them and so be it. I don't diet. I just adopt a cleaner lifestyle.
  • Cut out sugary drinks / soda

  • Moderation of junk food

  • No meals after 9pm

  • Never skip breakfast
Read up on Tom Venuto's "Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle", and trained based on the Optimized Volume Training which has been quite effective so far. Looking to probably alter it to Hypertrophy Specific Training but we'll see when I hit a plateau. For now, will post updates on my training progress as much as I can.

The Challenge Conquered

So the challenge has been taken, signed, sealed and delivered. I think the concept of the challenge is pretty cool but after training for so long, it ain't enough. I need to train so much more to reach the goal that I want. A waistline of 32 inches ain't the solution. However there's the excess skin that I need to deal with too. You see, I have always been fat and because of this, I have a generous amount of excess skin around the belly area. Just hoping it'll return back to it's normal state...

Anyway, thanks to those who took part in the challenge. Reaching it was no easy task and those around me are well aware of the changes I make in my life especially in my diet. But it's all worth it and like I mentioned, I have more work to do and I am guessing it'll soon be achieved by this mid year.
